After closing their doors in March to help stop the spread of coronavirus, MGM National Harbor's team has been looking forward to a day when it will reopen.

MGM Resorts International is prepping to reopen its casinos, hotels and conference spaces, including MGM National Harbor, after months in the dark during the coronavirus pandemic — but a lingering. The second phase of the Maryland reopening plan will begin at 5 pm on Monday. The second phase will also be applicable to Prince George Country where an MGM casino is ready to reopen. Which businesses will reopen? When the second phase kicks in, gyms, shopping malls, and casinos will be allowed to reopen. Photo by abby chicken. From a press release: 'MGM National Harbor – MGM Resorts International's (NYSE: MGM) ('MGM Resorts') luxury resort and casino located in the heart of the nation's Capital Region – will reopen to the general public at 6:00am on Monday, June 29 following its closure earlier this year amidst the coronavirus crisis.

MGM Resorts International rolled out a blueprint Tuesday of the changes that visitors will likely see when they return to MGM's properties.

When will MGM National Harbor reopen?

Prince George's County Executive Angela Alsobrooks is cautious while her county is continuing to battle the virus. A reopening date for entertainment venues like MGM National Harbor is still to be determined.

The county has seen nearly 10,000 cases of COVID-19 and 327 deaths as of Monday. Although the county is among the top 3 percent of counties practicing social distancing in the state, it's also experienced the highest number of 'imported' cases of coronavirus, from visitors, according to the University of Maryland, which is tracking mobile phone data to compile statistics.

Gamers aren't the only ones who want to see casino doors open. Maryland could see a $250 million hit because its revenue from casinos and lottery games has plummeted due to the coronavirus, Lottery and Gaming Control Agency Director Gordon Medenica said late last month.

7. Digital Innovations: MGM will put the arrival experience into the hands of the customers, enabling them to complete the check-in process themselves, from beginning to end. Guests will no longer need to wait in line, if they so choose. For guests without smart phones or who prefer not to use self-check-in, MGM will have a line-reduced environment designed with customers in mind.
